Weigh-In Results

Holy Geez!  I haven't been here for a week.  After I posted almost every day last week.  Back into the swing of things at work I guess.

Let's get to the weigh-in.

Crap sandwich.

I gained 7.1 pounds this week.  Not good.  I keep telling myself I'm at a plateau, but in reality, I'm not trying hard enough.  I'm eating too much, I'm slacking on the exercise, and my motivation is in the crapper.  I used to live or die by the number on the scale.  This week I looked at the number and said to myself, "Yeah, I deserve that."

The other night as we were falling asleep, I asked my wife, Claire, if I was half-assing this whole weight loss thing.  She said yes before I could finish answering the question.  I think I might actually be no-assing this whole weight loss thing.

Yes, I've come a long way, but if I'm ever going to reach my goal, I have to get my ass in gear.

  1. Have you been reading any books or blogs about weight loss or diet? Sometimes it helps to have a daily stream of information to help motivate & inspire you!

  2. I feel you. I was looking for motivation this morning as well. I went to the bathroom, saw my belly, and got bitch slapped into weight loss mode. It happens...

  5. What helps me when my motivation / effort is lacking is getting back to the weight loss community through other people's blogs and the #7daychip group on Twitter. I don't know if you're on Twitter, but this group of people are amazing. Not to be overly dramatic, but being a part of this group (who are a group of people helping support each other with their eating issues) has changed the way I have approached weight loss. 9. I just went through my own self imposed plateau. The truth was I just had to dig a little deeper. I was getting a little lazy. It's great that you've caught yourself, and you can get right back on track. You can do it!

  10. You certainly need a boost and re-focus on why it is that you're doing this. Sometimes it's easy for us to get distracted on something so long-term. Find something to read or go to about the benefits of weight loss that will help. Maybe a weight watchers meeting??? ;-)

And you should be running outside again. It's that time of year!!!
