Glass

So I've got a piece of glass embedded in the bottom of my foot.  Not fun.  I was cooking dinner and a can of soup fell out of the cupboard directly onto a glass on the counter.  It cracked, fell on the floor, and shattered.  I, of course, was barefoot.  I'm trying not to let it hamper my exercise.  I still managed to bike to work today with relative ease.  The glass is in my heel so pedaling is fairly unimpaired.

I still don't want it in my foot.  I've tried a tweezers but it's really stuck in there.  Any suggestions?

  1. Would I sound silly if I said... doctor...

  2. This reminds me of when I was younger and I would get slivers in the bottom of my foot-my dad would have to force me to sit down so he could 'dig' them out with his little pocket knife. It was scary for me-but not too painful really...

..so try a pocket knife first-that might work better than tweezers. But if that doesn't work, I'd go for the doctor.

  3. Put glue on the bottom of your foot, let it dry, peel it off. Works with splinters. Sometimes.

  5. I did the same thing once. I had to see a Dr. to have it removed.

  6. Use a rusty, semi-dull blade to carve it out. Bonus points if you just used that knife to kill a rabid skunk.

Soak your foot. Then dig in there. Have hydrogen peroxide handy.

  7. Not for the glass shard but for your goal you could try the livestrong website for dietary guides and calculators
