A Crummy Day

I felt worn down all day today.  I've been tired and sore since this morning.  I didn't have any hot water for my shower this morning which I was not very happy about.  The day didn't get much better after that.  The fact is I just had kind of a crummy day.

I did 43 push-ups in a row at the gym tonight.  I'm excited about that.  I've got two weeks left on my 100 push-ups challenge.  After I make 100, I'm going to try to find a balanced strength training program so I can build muscle and, hopefully, burn fat faster.

Sorry for the lackluster post.  I'll post something considerably more upbeat soon.  Until then, I'm going to keep in mind that I've come a long way on my journey.

What do you do to lift your spirits when you've had a bad day?

  1. 43 pushups is a good total. When I'm down I go for a run!

  2. I (try to) see the glass as half full. 12 weeks ago...how many push ups could you do? 12 weeks ago how many more pounds were you carrying. Where can you be in 12 weeks if you don't let a day like this derail/sidetrack you? No one is "on" 100% of the time. Even Olympic athletes (thank you Mr. Phelps for teaching us that lesson). Life it, feel it...but only for today for the few minutes that it takes you to KNOW that you will do this--REGARDLESS!

  3. I can do 11 pushups so 43 seems impossible to me!

Best thing to do when you're down: get out of the house and with people!

My fav thing to do: drive around, windows down, heat up, music blasting, singing as loud as you can.

  5. One of the best ways for me to deal with a crummy day is to come home and snuggle with Andy. He always manages to cheer me up. In the rare cases where he is unavailable, I go to the gym-It either lets my mind wander to other, more pleasant things while I'm on the elliptical, or else I have to focus on lifting weights-which leaves no time for other thoughts.

Sometimes its easy for me to eat something to feel better, but then I usually eat too much, and then I feel even worse-so do whatever you have to do so you don't do that. :D

  6. I'm still trying to figure out what to do when I'm feeling on the crabby side.

  7. When it's been a rough day, I just cuddle with Prudy and let her kiss me all over. She's always excited to see me and is always around!
