Weigh-In Results

283.7.  I'm proud of the result, but annoyed at my scale.  I stepped on it 10 different times and got 10 different results.  I had to fiddle with the positioning to make sure it was exactly where it was last week.  I think I need a new scale or new bathroom floor.

I know I stressed about this weigh-in quite a bit.  I still wish I had gotten a little better result.  Last week was a very good weigh-in for me.  I know I can't lose 6 pounds every week, and I am satisfied with the results.  I just want to be thin now!

I've been trying on old clothes lately.  Clothes from when I was thinner.  I still don't fit into my XL clothes, but I no longer have to stretch out my t-shirts before I leave the house so they don't cling to me.  I have an awesome suede sport-coat that I think I'm about 20 pounds away from fitting into.

On the way to the gym, I got stuck in the snow in our alley.  Luckily, some neighbors came and helped me get unstuck.  Once I got there I had a good sweat.  I listened to a little Ben Folds and about half of the album, Comfort Eagle by Cake.  It's been a while.  Which brings me to a question for you:  What do you listen to when you exercise?  What music motivates you the most?  I want to know.

  2. Anything with a decent beat, generally older artists (and man, I need to work out again!)...Donna Summer, Doobie Brothers, Cher, Toto, Steve Miller, Alan Parsons. Hawksley Workman, Owl City. I'll probably come up with others as I get into a workout regime...I need to!

  3. Usually metal, something to get me angry. Underoath, our last night, from first to last.

  4. Those feet are hanging off the sides of that scale pretty far...

I like to listen to podcasts, audio books, and musicals. Anything with a narative helps me pass the time. If you're on a treadmill or something it's fun to watch movies on your ipod if it has that capability.

  5. Have you tried to test the reliability of the scale stepping on it while hold a 10 pound weight so you know that it's accurate?

  6. Great job this week- you're right, 6 pounds every week is impossible and there is no reason to be disappointed when you lose less than that! Don't think about how much you still have to lose, think about what you've already lost! Make sure you weigh yourself at the same time of day- weight can fluxuate a LOT during the day. Being able to wear old clothes is a huge accomplishment- you're doubling your wardrobe!

  8. ridiculous and old school hip hop, the Hairspray soundtrack has some really good beats to run/treadmill to, songs that are long.... like Dancing Through Life from Wicked is like 7 minutes long, so by the time the song is done I've already ran for 7 minutes!
